Lets get Flowing!
Are you in the know about flow? Keep reading to discover just how essential your lymphatic system is to your health.
The lymphatic system is one of the body’s most powerful yet often overlooked systems of healing. It plays a critical role in maintaining immunity, filtering toxins, and supporting healthy circulation by removing cellular waste, viruses, excess fluid, bacteria, and other harmful substances. When this system becomes sluggish or impaired, the body’s natural detoxification and defense processes are compromised. This can lead to recurrent illnesses, chronic fatigue, digestive issues, greater inflammation and many other ailments that leave you feeling subpar and a general sense of malaise.
As a Certified Lymphedema Therapist, I bring a level of training and experience that goes far beyond a short continuing education class. I was honored to be awarded a full scholarship to the Norton School of Lymphatic Therapy—the nation’s leading program for comprehensive lymphedema and manual lymph drainage training. My education emphasized evidence-based protocols, advanced clinical techniques, and hands-on hospital experience working directly with oncology and post-surgical patients.
In addition to my professional expertise, I bring a deeply personal understanding to this work. Having faced breast cancer myself, I know firsthand the physical and emotional challenges that accompany treatment and recovery. This unique perspective allows me to support my clients with both clinical skill and genuine empathy.
What exactly is MLD?
Manual Lymph Drainage (MLD) is a gentle, yet powerful and medically recognized technique designed to stimulate the lymphatic system, reduce swelling, enhance immune function, decrease inflammation, and restore healthy flow throughout the body. Though soft in touch, MLD profoundly supports wellness by optimizing lymphatic circulation, strengthening immunity, and promoting deep detoxification. Whether you are managing lymphedema, recovering from surgery, feeling sluggish or run-down, or simply seeking to improve overall vitality, manually stimulating lymphatic flow helps decongest the system, release toxins, improve sleep, and restore a sense of balance and well-being almost immediately. As the ultimate enhancement to any wellness or detox regimen, MLD offers a safe, effective path to feeling renewed, restored, and recharged—perfect for anyone needing profound relaxation or a reset from within.

What is a session like?
An MLD session is typically one hour using a very light touch and technique we call “skin stretching”. It does not work the deeper layers of muscles, but rather the lymphatic system, which lies directly beneath the skin. It begins with a series of neck and stomach sequences to wake up the deeper nodes, followed by the rest of the body. Joint movement may be incorporated to aid in the ‘pumping’ of fluid for maximum flow. Any areas of concern are worked on last after the main fluid channels have been opened.
